What is w/Youth?
We are building W/Youth - a new co-design lab powered by young people in Manchester, working with businesses, the public sector and decision makers to listen, co-design and build purposeful and sustainably. Offering consultancy and market research services, W/Youth is committed to building purpose led, equitable and futureproof solutions.
W/Youth will not only support young people to shape the organisations that influence their lives but develop young people to be consultants whilst earning a wage.
Role Profile
We are looking for a strategic and dynamic Founding Associate & Manager to drive forward the W/Youth service. This role will co-develop and lead W/Youth, ensuring young people are central to decision-making across Manchester while also supporting Young Manchester’s core activities.
As Founding Associate & Manager, you will manage the co-development and launch of W/Youth. This role is particularly critical as Young Manchester vision of Manchester is one where every young person is able to shape their city. The postholder will ensure that children and young people are shaping Young Manchester’s work, in order to maximise opportunities for young people.

There will be a two-stage interview process which will start on the week commencing 31st March/7th April 2025, and the new W/Youth Founding Associate & Manager will be confirmed on the week commencing 21st April 2025. We would like the Founding Associate to start as soon as possible after being confirmed in role but are happy to discuss this and explore alternative start dates.
