The Hope for Cheetham Fund
Hope for Cheetham is a community-led, long-term project with a bold vision to create a Cheetham Hill where children and young people growing up here “are empowered and supported by the entire community and system to achieve their hopes and ambitions.” The fund has been shaped by the Hope for Cheetham steering group; a collective of community members, and organisations collaborating to enact a vision of the project. It has also been informed by Cheetham Hill's children and young people through conversations, consultations and surveys.
This funding is in partnership with the Youth Endowment Fund and the #iwill Fund.
The Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) works to prevent children and young people from becoming involved in violence by funding effective, evidence-based projects. Through rigorous evaluation, YEF identifies what works and supports services that give at-risk young people the best chance for a positive future. With input from young people via the Youth Advisory Board and peer researchers, YEF ensures that their needs are central to its efforts.
The Fund builds a movement to translate knowledge into action, providing the support young people deserve. The #iwill Fund, a £66 million joint investment from The National Lottery Community Fund and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), supports young people to engage in social action through activities like campaigning, fundraising, and volunteering. By funding initiatives that empower youth to create positive change in their communities, the #iwill Fund aims to make social action a core part of young people’s lives.
