Skatecamp MCR makes works to make skateboarding fun and accessible to children and young people. We run free sessions of diverse programmes in Skateboarding, arts, diy and community projects to Children and Young people in Moss Side Manchester. WE use sakteboarding as a vehicle to make friends, face fears, and build physical and emotional resilience.

Key to our work is using skateboarding as a platform for self exploration and expression. Through theatre, games, and arts, we teach skateboarding in ways that are inclusive, accessible to all.

Why Skateboarding?

When you give a child a skateboard you're giving the freedom. a chance to cruise through the city and make it their own. to realise fears and overcome challenges. Despite the strengths of skateboarding, it's still dominated by white men, and carries a competitiveness and bravado that makes it inaccessible to people. at Skate Camp we're building a new, inclusive community of skateboarders from the ground up. together we redefine skateboarding for a more inclusive and, let's face it, more fun, future.
